Nabeshima ware was produced at official kilns administered by Nabeshima domain (now Saga prefecture). It was made specifically for nobles and high-ranking warriors with strictly selected materials and expert technique. This dish, which is one of the finest examples of Nabeshima ware, shows a brushwood fence in underglaze blue and multi-colored overglaze enamels on a bluish-white porcelain ground.(161004_h133)
